Introduction

Skills in higher order thinking has been identified as an important life skill in the 21st century. In Malaysia, the development of higher order thinking is either an overreaching goal or an integral component of the school curriculum. Thus, this seminar is very important and timely.

This seminar provides a forum for sharing experiences and discussion on issues related to the development of higher order thinking and is platform for sharing good practices on practical ways to implement and integrate higher order thinking in teaching and learning for all levels from pre-school to tertiary level.

Seminar Highlights

 

This event highlights the first deliberations on current issues on higher order thinking. It also provides a platform for exchanging ideas, thoughts and views on the emerging trends in higher order thinking. It also foster a voice that is essential in building a fraternity among educators and researchers on the development of higher order thinking.

Objectives of the seminar

 

This seminar aims to:

Analays the current trends of higher order thinking practices, research and the connections to Malaysia education

Identify the new areas in the curriculum of higher order thinking from pre-schools to tertiary level and encompassing the challenges involved

Discuss innovative assessment issues in higher order thinking

Derive implications and key policy lessons for Malaysia regarding higher order thinking
